Course Essentials

We live in a world where economic activity is global in scale. National boundaries now matter very little to decisions about where goods are made and services provided: your PC might be made in Taiwan; when you contact a call centre the person answering might live in India; and when you come to the University of Dundee you will meet staff and students from all over the world.

By studying international business you will understand how this has come about, and what it means for today’s business world. You will be fully equipped to develop your own career in this new and challenging work environment.

Teaching & Assessment

Our approach introduces you to modern analytical and problem solving skills important to business professionals. You will learn from experts in their fields who will teach you about business techniques and current thinking in business-related subjects.

How you will be taught
In Levels 1 and 2 teaching is initially through a combination of lectures and tutorials. These continue in Levels 3 and 4, supplemented by workshops and computer laboratory sessions. Increasingly you will be required to undertake directed independent study to broaden and deepen your understanding of the issues covered in your courses.

How you will be assessed
Essays, problem-based exercises, case studies, presentations and group projects all play a role in assessment and together with exam results, provide the basis for your final grade.
