Brescia’s innovative Diploma in Management Studies is ideal for students who are looking for post-graduate business credentials taught at a Canadian university. Brescia’s Management Studies program will provide students an opportunity to learn and apply foundations of management in areas such as accounting, organizational behaviour, communications, marketing, operations and strategy within a Canadian context. Students who successfully complete the Diploma in Management Studies course work may be eligible to apply for a 4-month paid work placement and receive a Diploma in Management Studies with Work Placement.

Develop Competencies

Employers are looking for people who are self-starters, take initiative, and analyze and solve problems. Required courses in the Diploma in Management Studies program challenge students to tackle real organizational issues through methods such as case studies, live client projects, and in-class exercises. The ‘Field Project’ capstone course places students in a client-consultant relationship where they work with managers or business owners of real organizations to conduct research and present recommendations on issues of strategic importance. Students will work closely with the ‘Professional Perspectives’ course faculty member to be mentored through the program and supported in transition to the workplace.

Program Outline

Course work for the Diploma begins in September and continues for 8 months. The Diploma in Management Studies consists of 5.0 credit courses. The faculty expects post-degree level work from students with a high level of contribution in discussions, teamwork and active learning activities. Progression into the work placement is dependent upon completion of the first 2.0 pre-placement courses with an average grade of 70%. Students must be legally eligible to work in Canada and receive an offer of employment from an approved employer.

For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:
