The Course

This four-year course is perfect for those returning to education who may not have the correct qualifications. If you’ve only studied up to GCSE Level but have always dreamed of working in business management, there’s nothing stopping you. We pride ourselves on accepting applicants who have previously ruled out a degree based on their past grades.

In your first year you’ll complete four foundation year modules designed to prepare you for the next three years, covering study skills and an introduction to business management.

After this, you will learn the concepts and practice of global business management alongside how to meet your own objectives, such as starting a business. We’ll help you achieve this by teaching real-life business situations and case study analysis, as well as hosting discussions with guest speakers. Other modules include digital marketing, corporate risk management and sustainability in business.

  • You will get a  chance to become a member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
  • You can get access to hundreds of CMI learning materials to support your studies and career aspirations.

Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at Grade C/4 (or equivalent), including English Language. EU and International equivalent qualifications may also be accepted.

If you do not meet these entry requirements, you ca take our assessments and attend an interview. If you pass, you can be admitted to the course. We do not charge a fee for this.

For international applicants, if your first language is not English, you will require Academic IELTS at 5.5 (minimum 5.0 in each category).

You must have completed Year 11 (Key Stage 4) at least 2 years before you start the course. This would normally mean that you will be 18 years old or above when you start.

Teaching and Learning

Throughout your studies you’ll be taught via three methods: lectures, workshops and seminars. The exact format will depend on the modules studied, but you can expect a variety of all three.

Assessments come in a mix of formats, also depending on your chosen options. These include essays, portfolios, exams, reports, group presentations and case studies.

Assessments play a big part in your degree – they are key indicators in measuring your own success, as well as showing your progress to your tutors. If your grades are not as expected, we’ll offer the correct support to ensure improvement.

We constantly monitor assessment results and feedback to make sure our teaching is effective. We adapt our teaching and learning methods to suit our students, offering you a high quality and stimulating educational experience.

Accreditation & Career Opportunities

All students will have the chance to become a member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). You can get access to hundreds of CMI learning materials to support your studies and career aspirations.

When you graduate, you will have the knowledge and experience to work in a range of industries and roles. Our alumni have become human resource managers, operations managers, brand managers and business development managers. Many also choose to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities, setting up their own businesses such as GoLocate – an asset tracking technology funded by our incubator programme.
