Career progression

The rapid growth of the technology sector has seen an increased demand for creative, skilled engineers both nationally and internationally. Many global electronics organisations maintain research and development facilities within the UK and Europe. Engineers based in the UK can also be posted overseas to work on projects.

In addition to technical knowledge, this degree offers you the opportunity to develop a range of key employability skills that are highly transferrable to a wide range of areas beyond engineering, such as

⦁ IT
⦁ Finance
⦁ Management

Another possible course of action for graduates is to pursue further study in a specialist field of research. Courses include an MSc or Ph.D. in areas such as:

⦁ Internet engineering
⦁ Nanotechnology
⦁ Wireless and optical communications
⦁ Telecommunications
