This LLB foundation course covers the key pillars of legal knowledge and delves into the fundamentals of English Law and the legal system. The perfect introduction to your undergraduate studies, a law foundation degree prepares you with the skills you’ll need to progress in your studies. You’ll then progress to an undergraduate LLB, where you’ll not only learn the basics of the legal system and criminal law, but you’ll also be able to apply your legal understanding to complex real-life scenarios – allowing you to consider your own outcomes and solutions.

This Arden University Degree is taught via our Blended Learning programme, which lets you combine online study with lectures 2 days a week at one of our LondonManchester or Birmingham based study centres. 

Part of the School of Business and Management, this Business Degree will not only teach you the basics of Business, but will also explore topics such as Management Skills, the Principles of Marketing, Business Analysis and Managing Change.

When can I study?

Requiring just 8 hours of classes a week at your chosen UK study centre, courses are scheduled as follows: 

  • Weekdays*: 2 days per week, 4 hours per day (either 9.00–13.00 or 13.30-17.30)
  • Evenings**: 2 evenings per week 17.30–21.30 

In addition to the 8 hours of face-to-face teaching each week, you will be expected to study an additional minimum of 25.5 hours of online independent learning.

This is perfect if you want more guided learning but need the flexibility to study around work, family or other commitments.

What is Blended Learning at Arden University ?

Do you want to study for a Degree, but feel like you just don’t have the time to fit it into your life? Arden University’s  Blended Learning courses combine innovative online learning with traditional, face-to-face classes to give you a more flexible way to study.

How does it work?

The face-to-face hours are delivered over 2 days per week, but with the additional independent online learning, you can still complete your Degree in 3 years*. This Blended approach means you can study anytime, anywhere and your tutors and support teams can be contacted outside of the classroom, online or over the phone.

When can I study?

Requiring just 8 hours of classes a week at your chosen UK study centre, you will have the opportunity to select when you want to learn: weekdays or  evenings .

Timetable is limited to either two mornings (9.00am to 1.00pm) or two afternoons (1.30pm to 9.30pm), or two evenings (two nights on campus 5.30pm – 9.30pm) during teaching weeks;

Entry Requirements

This BA (Hons) Business Degree course at Arden University has standard entry requirements. To be eligible for this course you must have either:

  • Two subjects at GCE A-Level or equivalent, plus passes at grade C or above in three subjects at GCSE level or equivalent; OR
  • Have completed a recognised Access Programme or equivalent

Don’t meet the standard entry requirements, but have work experience?

We are happy to consider an application from you at Arden if you can show us you have the motivation to study our Blended Learning programme.

We’ll ask you for a personal statement that demonstrates your ability to study the course. We’ll also ask you for references and evidence of relevant work experience.

Don’t have any of the above?

We also offer this course as a 4 year Degree which includes a foundation year (subject to validation). This first year prepares you for university-level study and is ideal if you don’t have the formal qualifications or work experience detailed above.

Non-native English speaker?
If your prior learning was not taught in English we require IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (no less than 5.5 in any element).

Course Content

You’ll start your Business Degree at Arden University by studying the core areas of business and best practices, before choosing an area of business you’d like to specialise in. You’ll then come to understand the role your specialism plays in the wider business environment.

Study skills

During the first 6 weeks of year 1 (Block 1) you will also attend 4 study skills workshops, providing advice and guidance to help you achieve university success. Sessions may include Reading & Note-Taking, iLearn Online Library, Referencing & Plagiarism and Approaching Assignments. This will bring your weekly class time up to 9.5 house a week for Block 1. The following study blocks will be the usual 8 hours classroom time (+ online tuition and self-guided study time).
